Vedior Asia Pacific - Tanner Menzies Environmental Policy

Tanner Menzies as part of the Vedior Asia Pacific Group follows the Environmental Policy as outlined below.

Although Vedior Asia Pacific is a provider of services rather than products, we acknowledge that during the conduct of our operations we do make use of natural and man-made resources. Vedior Asia Pacific appreciates the environmental benefits of reducing the consumption of these resources and continually seeks alternative options and makes use of recycling initiatives wherever they may be practical. We have developed a comprehensive strategy to minimise the impact our business has on the environment and have examined changes in our business activities to ensure they provide a positive change in achieving sustainable development.

Vedior has invested heavily in technology providing an e-Commerce system that has reduced our paper usage by over 45%. Timesheets produced by our temporary contractors are not required to be printed. Candidates can send an image of their timesheets over our email system in the form of an e-timesheet or alternatively utilise the traditional method of facsimile. The image of the timesheet received by Vedior Asia Pacific’s payroll department is not printed, instead the image is scanned then stored on the payroll server and can be accessed at any time. This saves a minimum of 6000 sheets of paper every week and reduces considerably the need for vast storage cabinets.

Vedior has a policy of recycling all paper used within the organisation. Paper that requires disposal is separated into confidential records and general information and placed in the appropriate recycling bins. Vedior Asia Pacific has contracted organisations to ensure the majority of paper from these bins is recycled.  Printing on the reverse of old documents reuses paper that has been used but is not of a confidential nature. In an industry that potentially could utilise and waste large amounts of paper, Vedior Asia Pacific is proud of our responsible paper policy.

All printer, photocopier and facsimile toners utilised by Vedior Asia Pacific are recycled to minimise waste. All branches within the Vedior Asia Pacific network are equipped with recycling bins to separate bottles and cans that are then recycled.

All staff at Vedior Asia Pacific are encouraged to utilise public transport when travelling short distances to client sites.

Vedior Asia Pacific has a dedication to the community and this is evidenced in a recent company initiative of providing corporate volunteering in the wider community. Consultants are encouraged to take part in community events and these have included Clean Up Australia and the National Tree Day.

Energy usage within Vedior Asia Pacific branch offices is minimised through the company policy of shutting down all office computers after business hours.

Vedior Asia Pacific will continue to examine our activities to ensure our business has a minimal effect on the local environment. If Vedior Asia Pacific is successfully reappointed to this contract we intend to continue in our investment in technology to ensure that waste is minimised in the future.
